Frequently asked questions at Clipper Boardinghouse Berlin-Gendarmenmarkt

There is no general minimum stay at the Boardinghouse Berlin-Gendarmenmarkt. On certain dates of the year, a minimum stay of two to three nights is specified. Furthermore, we offer various promotional and special rates that may be linked to a minimum stay.

Relax during your stay in our main house or To ensure that your reservation remains for you after 6:00 pm on the day of arrival, you can guarantee your reservation with a credit card. Please bear in mind that reservations without a credit card guarantee will be cancelled after 6:00 pm. When booking promotional or special rates, a credit card or prepayment may be required. This can be found in the booking conditions of your offer or your confirmation. Fairytale rooms, country house studios or in our wedding suite. On our homepage and when booking by telephone, we offer you the best price for your stay and will be happy to advise you in detail. If you find a better price for the same service elsewhere, please let us know.

The reservations team can be reached from Monday to Thursday between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm and on Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm by calling +49 (0)800 2547737*.

If you are booking as part of a contract rate, please use the booking code stated in the rate agreement in the booking mask on our homepage or quote it to us when booking by telephone.


Are you a business traveller planning a longer stay or several stays in Hamburg? You are welcome to contact our Sales team regarding the arrangement of a corporate rate via mail.

You and your family are very welcome here. Depending on the category, our flats offer space for up to 4 people and are therefore ideal for a family holiday in Berlin.The cost for an extra bed for children from 3 to 12 years is 40.00 EUR per night, from 13 to 17 years 60.00 EUR per night and for a third adult 80.00 EUR per night. For our very young guests from 0 to 2 years we are happy to prepare a baby crib for 20,00 EUR per night. 

If required, we can provide a baby buggy free of charge during your stay.

The prices we show include the accommodation service, a welcome bottle of water as a starter package, care products in the bathroom as well as VAT and accommodation tax. In addition, a partial cleaning after every 3rd night and a full cleaning after the 6th night are included.

We kindly ask you to settle your stay during check-in at the reception. We would like to point out that an advance payment may be required when booking promotional or special rates. Please refer to the booking conditions of the respective offer.

Your four-legged travel companion is very welcome with us! For the stay of your dog we charge a daily cleaning fee of 25,00 EUR.

Since 2015 we are a non-smoking flat house! We are committed to this promise to our guests. In case of non-observance of the smoking ban, we therefore reserve the right to charge a special cleaning fee of 120.00 EUR. This also includes balconies and winter gardens.

The Boardinghouse Berlin-Gendarmenmarkt has its own underground car park. We charge EUR 28.00 per night for a parking space or EUR 15.00 per night for stays of 30 nights or more.  The clearance height is 2.00 metres.

If you have reserved a parking space in the garage, you will receive an access card for the underground garage at the reception. You can choose your own parking space in the garage.

Your flat will be at your disposal from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival. We will be happy to store your luggage for you outside this time. If you would like to move into your room earlier, please contact us. If you would like to book a guaranteed early arrival, you are welcome to arrange this in consultation with the reception or reservation, subject to availability. We charge 80.00 EUR for this.

Your flat will be available to you until 11.00 am on the day of departure. We will be happy to store your luggage for you beyond this time.

If you would like to book a guaranteed late departure, you are welcome to arrange this in consultation with the reception or the reservation, subject to availability. We charge 80.00 EUR each for this.

The parking space in the garage is available until 11:00 am on the day of departure. If you would like to use the parking space beyond this time, please contact the reception team.

The reception team is at your disposal from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and on weekends and public holidays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. For late arrival please use our check-in box

When you check in, we need you to fill out the registration form. You will receive this by e-mail three days before arrival and you can send it to us in advance by e-mail, bring it with you on arrival or fill it out on site. On arrival, you already pay for the booked services such as accommodation, parking, extra bed or baby cot for the entire stay. If you have already paid in advance by credit card, please have your credit card ready to legitimise the payment. In addition, we require your passport or identity card and, if applicable, proof of vaccination or convalescence at check-in.

If you arrive outside reception opening hours, you will receive your room card via the check-in box next to the main entrance door. At this box, please enter your first and last name without the teaching sign as a password. After receiving your card, please use the card reader on the left wall in front of the entrance door.

Yes, we offer free Wi-Fi in the entire house.

Only a 5-minute walk away, the shopping mall "Quartier 205" offers a marketplace for gastronomy and grocery shopping.

The booked price includes a partial cleaning after every third night and a full cleaning after the sixth night. You are welcome to book additional full cleaning for 30.00 EUR extra.

In our guest laundry room you can wash and dry your own laundry daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Washing machines, dryers and clothes drying racks are available free of charge. Alternatively, we are happy to order a cleaning service on weekdays. If you hand in your laundry at reception by 9:00 am, it will be returned to you by 7:00 pm on the same day. Express cleaning is also available on request. You will find laundry bags and lists in your wardrobe.

We are happy to provide you with an iron and ironing board free of charge. Please contact the reception team or our housekeeper.

A Nespresso coffee machine is included in the basic equipment of the flats. We will provide your flat with the first Nespresso coffee capsules as a welcome gift. You can purchase additional capsules for 0.80 EUR each or as a bar of capsules (10 capsules) for 8.00 EUR.

We are happy to provide allergy pillows and blankets on request and subject to availability. Please inform us when making your reservation if you require allergy bedding.

We are happy to lend out our own umbrellas at reception, subject to availability.

The central location close to the Gendarmenmarkt, the direct neighbourhood to popular highlights such as the State Opera Unter den Linden, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the French Cathedral, the Humboldt University and the walking distance to the street "Unter den Linden" with its famous addresses and sights of Berlin's history make the location of the Clipper Boardinghouse Berlin - Gendarmenmarkt an ideal starting point for any stay in the German capital.

On arrival, you already pay for the booked services such as accommodation, parking, extra bed or baby cot for the entire stay. If you book a stay of more than 14 days, you pay for the first 14 days on arrival and then every 14 days thereafter. If you wish to use a different method of payment, please clarify this in advance with reception. Other terms and conditions apply to payments made through a cost transfer.

At the Clipper Boardinghouse Berlin-Gendarmenmarkt, you can settle your bill at reception using most common methods of payment. These include: Cash, EC cards, Maestro cards, V-Pay cards, Visacard, Mastercard and American Express. Cost transfers must be agreed and approved before your stay.
