The Hanseatic city is the third largest musical metropolis in the world after New York and London. Even the crossing with the harbour launch offers perfect entertainment.

The Elbe beach in Övelgönne is a popular destination for excursions. Amidst the old pilots' and captains' houses, the cult café "Strandperle" is located directly on the beach. The museum harbour with its exhibition of historic watercraft is also worth a visit.

The staircase quarter in Blankenese captivates with its winding alleys, charming houses and the endless steps directly on the Elbe slope. Once at the top, visitors can enjoy a wide view over the Elbe. The former fishing village has an interesting history, as it was once Danish, Austrian and Prussian.

Those who love water more than anything else like to turn houses into ships. Dockland is an office building that went up on the banks of the Elbe before Anke. Just opposite is the legendary "Fischereihafen Restaurant".

The Port of Hamburg is the second largest container port in Europe and Germany's most important water access. Every year, 100 million tonnes of goods are handled here.

The St. Pauli district is world-famous for its "sinful mile" Reeperbahn and the legendary Bundesliga football club with the skull and crossbones.  However, the so-called Kiez has much more to offer. Galleries, start-up scene and innovative gastronomy. Quaint bars in deep cellars or at dizzying heights with a view over the harbour and the whole of Hamburg.

Hamburg's famous fish market takes place every Sunday. The name is deceptive: in addition to fresh fish and crab rolls, flowers, potted plants, fruit, vegetables and confectionery are also offered here. Traditionally, the fish market takes place in the early morning until 9:30, from April to October already from 5:00 and in the winter months from November to March from 7:30.

The Clipper Boardinghouse Hamburg-Michel, our second house in Hamburg, is located in the heart of the Portuguese Quarter, not far from the Landungsbrücken and the Michel. Here you will find numerous restaurants and cafes, small shops and galleries, as well as various seamen's churches.

Explore the "Gateway to the World" during a harbour tour, on a walk towards the Speicherstadt or use the HVV ferries for a crossing to Finkenwerder or to the museum harbour Övelgönne.

From the tower of the Hamburg Michel and from the viewing platform of the Elbphilharmonie you have a good overview of the Port of Hamburg, St. Pauli and Hamburg city centre.

On the way to Jungfernstieg you will pass the historic town hall, where the Hamburg Senate still meets today. Sign up for a guided tour in advance. Once you arrive at Jungfernstieg, you can decide whether you want to stroll through the numerous shops or enjoy the big city life while strolling around the Alster.

The Speicherstadt, together with the neighbouring Kontorhaus district, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest warehouse complex in the world. It was built from 1883 onwards and is both an architectural and tourist gem. Spices, coffee, cocoa and tea are still stored here, and the Speicherstadt is also the world's largest transhipment point for Persian carpets. The former closed-off free port area was opened in 2003 and 13 museums have settled here. A place you have to see!

HafenCity is another modern city district that has been created in the last decade. With an area of 157 ha, it is the largest inner-city urban development project in Europe.
